What is podcast?

Podcast is a radio or a TV show internet-style. It is totally on demand. It is FREE. Download MP3s or video files from the site, burn them on a CD or put files into your MP3 player and listen or watch anytime, anywhere.
It is absolutely fabulous option for commuters, travelers and multi-taskers!

There are a number of podcast directories, where the best of Tango Tales episodes, as well as the other podcasts about tango can be found.

There is free software available to subscribe and manage the downloaded MP3 files (see Podcast management software).

With your subscription to any podcast (FREE!), you can always have the latest and the greatest episodes.

How do I listen to those podcast episodes on the go?

First of all, let's figure out what you have:

#1 - I have an iPod and an account with iTunes

#2 - I own an MP3 player other than iPod and/or I do NOT want to open account with iTunes

#3 - All I have is a computer and a CD player.

#1 - I have an iPod and an account with iTunes

It is easy! Use Search function (upper right side) in iTunes to find Tango Tales. Click Subscribe, when you find the podcast.

You can also use iTunes Store -> Subscribe to podcast... function from the menu. Enter the address of the podcast feed (see Tango podcasts)

Pick & select the episodes to download. iTunes has a tutorial how to put MP3 files into iPod.

BUYER BEWARE: there is a bug in iTunes software, which sometimes prevents it from listing all the episodes.
That's why I recommend other sites and software to download the podcasts.

#2 - I own an MP3 player other than iPod and/or
I do NOT want to open account with iTunes

You can download podcasts two ways:

- from the numerous podcast directories (see Podcast directories)

- by installing and running free podcast management software (see Podcast management software)

You copy the MP3 files with podcast episodes into your MP3 player just like you do it with your music files.

#3 - All I have is a computer and a CD player.

You burn the MP3 files with podcast episodes onto CDs with Windows Media Player or any other available CD burning sofware on your computer.

Tango Tales is listen in all major podcast directories.

Some directories do not have Download button against each episode. To download an episode, right-button click on a Play icon next to the episode and choose Save Link As.... This substitutes and automatic downloading function.

Podcast management software allows you to subscribe, to download & to keep track of the podcast episodes.

WinPodder is the simplest software. It is great if you are not into podcasting & you want to download only from time to time just a few podcast episodes of your choice. it appears that it can synch with your iPod, but I can not tell for sure, because I do not have a one.

ZiePod is for the serious podcast listeners, who download at least from half of a dozen podcasts on regular basis. It has a lot of very neat functions. The interface is very reminiscent of iTunes.

In order to subscribe to the podcast through iTunes, podcast management software or through the live bookmarks in your web browser, you have to know the addresses of the RSS feeds.
