A year and a half I jolted a note to myself:
Before any tango dancer steps on the floor with a partner, he or she lived
through the story which brought him or her to tango.
Perhaps, this is the most interesting thing about tango: why a person decided to dance it?
During show I will read the essay Tango-in Down Under by Candy Green, an American who immigrated to New Zealand many years ago.
Candy Green writes how she started to dance Argentine tango. It is a story which is optimistic and heart-breaking, wise and naive - all at the same time. And it is honest.
E-mail Candy any comments on her essay.
Also - 06.22.07 is the historic date (tango-wise) in Portsmouth,
NH.
For the first time the Argentine tango was danced on the
brick sidewalk of Market Square.
The group was small (just two of
us), but energetic.
