Max Valentinuzzi: playing piano in the Golden Age of Argentine tango

Max Valentinuzzi was born in 1932.
For 10 years - from 1946 to 1956 - he played piano for the various bands (mostly tango) in Buenos Aires. Bob Barnes of Mandragora Tango Orchestra recorded the interviews with Max. Max's story is not only about tango. It is an inseparable mix of musical, personal & historical perspectives from the mid-1940s to the modern days.
You will hear about the musicians he met, what the milongas of the late 1940s-early 1950s were like and how his engineering career took him to USA and back to the troubled Argentina of the early 1970s.

Check out Mandragora Tango Orchestra  ( the band's site has lovely dance tracks and other interesting tango goodies). Some of the tracks are recorded with Max at piano.
Bob, you are my bestest buddy, because you did the recordings of Max's stories! Special thanx to you.
